Here at the interns we give our ears and proper workout so we thought we would give our eyes a chance to prove their worth. Trash or treasure gives us a chance to look over the week past’s most eyeball worthy looks and decide if we’re going to copy them or appreciate them from afar.
Disclosure In V Magazine
Chosen as one of the few artist on Sam Smith’s Best Playlist in the most recent issues of V Magazine and getting photographed in outfits consisting of Burberry, Giorgio Armani and Acne – that’s pretty cool for a couple of 24/21 year old guys.
Demi Lovato in Vanity Fair
“So how do I really embrace this chapter? How do I really walk the walk? So what if we do a super sexy photo shoot, but it’s not super fancy? Where it’s no makeup, it’s raw, it’s real, it’s un-retouched, it’s here, it’s now.” — Demi Lovato Head to Vf.com to see all of the exclusive images from @ddlovato’s shoot by photographer @ecclesinephoto. #Demitakeover
The inclusion of Demi in this list may be invalid, due to her lack of clothing, however she proves that the untouched, no makeup photo shoots are some of the more interesting spreads and becoming more frequent in recent magazine issues. I have to admit I’ve never really noticed much about her before this photo shot, so she definitely got (some) peoples attention. In a good way.
Joey Bada$$ At Bondi
This was taken on Monday, when it was 38 degrees and he decided to vest. It must have been taken very early because you can actually see a patch of sand at Bondi. About to embark on his World Domination tour with Denzel Curry and Mick Jenkins, Joey Bada$$ did a quick pit stop to Sydney to perform at Listen Out.
Jay Z and Beyoncé
Love goals… Or closet goals, I’ll take whichever. This mustard/ emerald colour combination is divine. Whilst we can’t exactly see the details of his tux, I don’t doubt for a second he would look equally as stylish as she does.
I dig this look. She’s definitely matured from her old school tomboy ghetto glam, but she still look effortless cool and not overdone. Well done Fergie Ferg!
Rihanna At Paris Fashion Week
Well hello gorgeous! I’m referring to her coat but she scrubs up pretty well too. Who better to wear than Dior Haute Couture during Paris Fashion Week? This outfit is just… oh. Love her.
Rihanna At Her Album Cover Launch
Another Rihanna look because let’s face it music fashion is basically just Rihanna right now. Only RiRi could have an event just to launch and album cover but she had all of Twitter going mental and looked ridiculously good in an all-black dressing gown-inspired look.
Janet Jackson At Paris Fashion Week
I read something recently that I think perfectly describes the OG dance pop star: “She has never had to radically reinvent her look, her persona – or even her sound – to get our attention. All Janet Jackson has to do is put out a new album, and everyone gets up and dances.” Here she’s seated next to her husband front row at Hermes SS16 show during Paris Fashion Week looking stylish in all black.
Dallas Green On GQ
Recently featured on GQ’s website photographed in chocolate brown suede hat, all black suit and pocket square, there is the element of soul in both his music and the way he dresses. With an avid interest in fashion (not trends, fashion) his style is put together, masculine with a bit of a vintage feel. As he puts it he is more inspired by his grandfather than Motley Crue.
Taylor Swift, Nelly & Haim In Concert
When Taylor Swift brings it, she really brings it. Amidst her 1989 Tour (which has felt like it’s been going since then) in St Louis, she had Nelly perform his old school classic “Hot in Herre” whilst she and BFF’s Haim stood in as backup singers and dancers. All dressed in white, this collaborative bunch made up a great pop/rap band.
Travis Scott and Kanye West Vogue Paris Night
What’s Paris Fashion Week without the rapper these days. Not surprising while all the gals dressed to the nines in their ultra chic outfits, Kanye and Travis rocked up in standard hip hop attire. They can get away with anything.
Christine & The Queens In Front Of A Door
French singer Christine & The Queens is just days away from releasing her first English full-length album but it’s worth talking about more than just her music. Her fashion is always weird but on-point and this pink suit exemplifies that. It looks slightly off-kilter but is also something a little bit different and creative.
