Last week it was announced that Nina Las Vegas would be leaving triple j in order to concentrate on her own record label aptly titled NLV Records. Today, she has officially launched the label announcing the first signings and dropping the first track. Joining NLV Records will be frequent collaborator and Mad Decent affiliated producer Swick, Melbourne producer Lewis Cancut, all encompassing producer and artist Air Max ’97 and Adelaide’s grime-tinged producer Strict Face. Of course, Nina herself will also be part of the family.
To kick things off, Nina is giving away one track from each artist over the next four weeks and she’s beginning with Lewis Cancut. Systems is the track and it’s an experimental, intricate club tune with plenty of bounce. Cancut has always been one to scope out some of the more candy-infused beats around and this track is no different, delivering plenty of noises that will just slide straight into your eardrum. You can download the song for free for seven days so you better hop to it.
As if NLV couldn’t get any busier, she’s about to head over to the US and then Europe for a month-long tour. If that’s where you reside or if you’re going to be gallivanting overseas in the next month you can check out the dates below.
