Five Directions: The Definitive Ranking Of One Direction Solo Careers

Written By Bianca Bosso on 05/08/2017

It’s been over a year since One Direction announced they were going on hiatus, leaving the four of them to disperse and concentrate on their own solo careers. Usually when a boy band dissolves, at least a few of them decide to pursue music no longer but in the case of One Direction, they’re all giving it a crack. ZAYN left early and got off to a head start, Harry will release his debut album on Friday, Niall dropped Slow Hands last week, Louis teamed with Steve Aoki and Liam is reportedly nearing a new release with hip-hop trio Migos.

From ’70s rock to hip-hop, they’re all heading in very different directions but their careers are all going to be measured alongside each other. Early betters would’ve called Harry as the most likely to succeed post-1D but his debut single Sign Of The Times raced up the charts and is quickly falling. Meanwhile, ZAYN’s collected two number ones in the US and even though he’s had a head start, he’s shown that he’s in it for the long run.

With each member off the starting blocks with their solo career, we unfairly ranked them in order of who is the most successful right now. And yes, we’re aware that Liam has not yet released anything but ya snooze ya lose.
