It’s rare that you find an artist who has the full package on their second official release but that’s what we’re getting with Keelan Mak.
The Australian act already has a strong visual aesthetic and is carving out his own sonic lane in the Ausssie music landscape.
His second release Flicker sees him go even deeper down the rabbit hole, finding a dark, affecting pop song full of ear worms.
It pulls you in slowly with his brooding vocals and then seals the deal with a planet-shifting synth-line that immediately tugs at the heart.
Flicker is ambitious and shooting this big so early in a career could’ve been too much but he handles it like a pro.
