Destiny Rodgers made her official arrival on the pop scene last week with her debut EP Tomboy.
Rodgers is a 19 year-old singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist who cut her teeth busking in LA for the past few years.
Don’t worry about the busking thing though because she’s not serving us a quaint folk record. Instead Tomboy is near fault-less collection of pop songs from the melodic trap-tinges of Tomboy to the hard-hitting, fast-moving Apologies.
She’s teamed up with Stereotypes for the project, the Grammy-award winning production duo who have been behind songs like Bruno Mars and Cardi B’s Please Me, Justin Bieber’s Somebody To Love and GoldLink’s Got Friends.
You can tell there’s an experienced production duo behind this but it’s Rodgers’ slippery voice and natural charisma that get it across the line.
