We’re a month away from Shura’s sophomore album Forevher and she’s delivered the third track from it The Stage.
It’s her boldest moment from the record yet, giving us stomping keys straight out of Elton John’s songbook and production that leans towards Tame Impala’s pop work.
The lyrical origins are as sweet as the song itself with Shura writing it about her first date with her girlfriend. It was at a MUNA concert and Shura wrote on Twitter, “We are still together so can thoroughly recommend it as a first date for anyone thinking about it.”
As a result, the song is appropriately lovestruck, sounding like the giddiest moments of an early relationship before any sense of responsibility kicks in.
