Keelan Mak has dropped a new track Sleep Talker and announced his debut EP Test The Shallows.
It’s another bullseye for Mak in a run that has barely seen him put a foot wrong. This may be his most confident output yet though, running full speed into the pop realm with a slapper of a chorus.
Co-written with Maribelle, it’s about a stagnant relationship, “where we only got honest when the lights were off,” as Mak put it.
The lights are off in the song with Mak offering a woozy, hypnotic vocal. It’s the beat that brings the clarity with crisp, alert production peppered with a few synth surprises.
He co-produced the track with Sydney producer Moohki and it’s another sign that he has a very cohesive vision as an artist.
The EP is out 27th September and he’s heading out on tour with Thomston at the end of next month.
