Now that Vampire Weekend‘s Modern Vampires of the City has died down a bit, the members of the band are free to pursue their own musical pursuits. Last month, Ezra Keonig popped up on SBTRKT‘s New Dorp New York and today the bassist, Chris Baio has delivered a perfect slice of electronica in the way of On&On&On&On. The track is a sparkling showcase with twinkling synths and delicately-placed vocal samples. While it’s definitely a departure from Vampire Weekend’s sound, it retains that healthy mix of optimism and broodiness. If you like what you hear, there is an EP of the same name coming out by the end of the month.
